Ida Ottesen  (PLA, ASLA, LEED AP BD+C) has more than 20 years of experience, planning, designing  and implementing sustainable landscapes and culturally vibrant spaces that enhance user experiences and benefit the greater community.  She believes that landscape architecture plays a critical role in addressing global challenges such as climate change and social and environmental justice and she is dedicated to building healthy communities. Her extensive, award-winning experience spans planning and design for parks, education, housing, infrastructure and cultural projects. Ida works throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, leading project teams that deliver culturally sensitive and community-informed project planning and design. She applies her knowledge of low impact development principles, CPTED and Northwest plant material to design innovative and synergistic landscapes and designs appropriate to the Cascadia bioregion. As a principal, her expertise also includes construction document production oversight, specification writing and cost estimating—produced to a high standard and in accordance with regulations, best practices, and client requirements.
