Vision Zero SF: Motorcycle Safety Video
Motorcycle riders are only 2% of San Francisco road users, but they account for 20% of the City’s traffic fatalities. We’re now arming riders with lesser known safe riding tips—aiming to improve traffic safety for riders and all San Francisco street users. It’s part of the Vision Zero SF campaign to eliminate all traffic deaths.
The five-minute video educates and promotes safe urban riding behaviors among San Francisco motorcyclists. It features hand-drawn illustrations of San Francisco streetscapes and a green screen live rider who demonstrates safety tips—such as slower speeds, extra care when making left turns and special precautions to take given San Francisco’s fog, steep hills and light rail tracks in the road.
With rave reviews, it’s a centerpiece in classroom-based training sessions and the basis for a series of short, topic-specific social media shareable videos.
