UC Agriculture and Natural Resources Headquarters

Creating a Headquarters that Reflects a Rich History

The UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) has a deep and rich history in California, dating back to the original 1800s land grant that established the University of California. As a premier agricultural and environmental research institution for over a century, UC ANR has made an indelible mark on California, the nation and the world through its teaching, research and innovations conducted at more the 250 buildings and on over 12,000 acres of land statewide.

A newly acquired 10-acre property in Davis was the ideal opportunity to create a landmark, highly visible headquarters showcasing its core academic, research and innovative spirit. The Concept Plan reflects its vision of a site with flexible meeting and classroom space, state-of-the-art research and laboratory space, and integrated indoor and outdoor agricultural research areas. It identifies building locations, open space and agricultural areas, and current and future parking. The process of developing the plan resulted in UC ANR understanding emerging trends and innovative concepts to be considered in the next round of design for the headquarters campus.
