Tigard Triangle Urban Renewal

Urban Renewal Made Fun!

Did you know that tax increment financing is the best thing since sliced bread? The Tigard Triangle—an underused 500-acre area bounded by three busy highways—has the potential to be a active, pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use community with comfortable and interesting streets, buildings, parks, opens spaces and community gathering places. We met with local landowners to develop concept plans and complete proforma analyses. The plan for urban renewal includes a green streetscape plan with a palette of design options, a Lean Code, major infrastructure projects and potential catalytic developments that achieve the Strategic Plan vision MIG previously developed.

Educational materials convey how tax increment financing works without any new or additional taxes for the rest of the City of Tigard. It’s urban renewal explained like you’ve never seen before.

The Urban Renewal Plan required a public vote and passed with 68% approval.
