Huntington Beach Pier Design

Everybody’s Gone Surfin’ at the Pier

Home to the largest surfing competition in the world, the Huntington Beach pier is iconic—one the longest public piers on the West Coast and on the California Register of Historical Resources. The new design provides a high-quality recreational experience for the local community and 3 million annual beach visitors. Ocean-themed art is woven into the entire area. The new programmable open plaza space can accommodate the City’s 120 yearly special events, including the US Open Surfing Competition. An outdoor amphitheater has the ocean as its backdrop—and the seating area is itself an art piece that conveys the City’s history. There’s improved pedestrian access, new restrooms, concession buildings and a restaurant. A new pier worthy of Surf City, USA.
