Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

At Happy Hollow, children play, learn and have fun in a secure outdoor environment. Through stories, adventures and introductions to the plants and animals that make their home on site, visitors of all ages gain an understanding that all living things need special habitats in which to thrive. The Park and Zoo renovation resulted in a uniquely holistic experiences for families.

All of the existing ride areas and zoo were completely renovated, and the Park added four acres with several new animal exhibits, veterinary and commissary buildings, an education center, guest services and gift shop, concessions, new parking lot and pedestrian bridge. Over 79,000 plants were added to the existing landscape, nearly all of which are native to California and promote biodiversity by providing habitat for local wildlife. The result is a unique outdoor experience where children and young families build a deep relationship with the natural world around them. The park presents entire ecosystems that include plants, animals and people, allows children to learn through play and creates up-close encounters with nature.

The Park & Zoo combines innovative green architecture with whimsical fun and was awarded LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
