Exposition Park Master Plan

Revisualizing the Fabric Between the Buildings

Exposition Park, in Los Angeles, California, is home to critical cultural institutions such as the California African American Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, The California Science Center and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The surrounding neighborhood in southern Los Angeles has some of the highest population densities in the County. Envisioning a future for the park—amidst a time of tremendous change for the community—required equally forward thinking visualization tools.

MIG supported the Torti Gallas + Partners team by illustrating that park vision. Some aspects of the new vision were distilled down to static images to examine specific design elements, such as thresholds, plazas and parkways. But a comprehensive digital model captured the entire park, deploying annotated, diagrammatic animations to highlight views and scenes that tell the complete story of the new park vision.
