East Boulder Subcommunity Plan
East Boulder is planning key investments along Arapahoe Avenue, which connects Boulder to its surrounding communities—to create the community’s vision of a mixed-use neighborhood with improved mobility. Its new Subcommunity Plan integrates diverse housing, commercial and retail options into industrial areas to create lively, walkable, working neighborhoods that offer employees and residents a variety of local services and amenities.
The 55th and Arapaho Station Area Master Plan (STAMP) details the transit-oriented development (TOD) planned for the area. While this intersection and area is currently served by a handful of local and regional bus routes, in the future it will be the location of a State Highway 7 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station, with high-quality, high-frequency service. While the City doesn’t own most of the land — it is private property — it can use zoning to encourage or to disallow various types of redevelopment. City staff will use this document to inform public investment, work plans, City-led and partnership projects, and other programs to achieve the community’s vision.
