Art Planning for a New Development

The East Village is the largest urban neighborhood in downtown San Diego. It’s known for its exciting vibe, with cafes and restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, brew pubs, rooftop bars and live music venues. Architecturally, it’s a mix of sleek high-rises alongside former warehouses and Victorian homes.

Framework is a new East Village mixed-use apartment building, developed by Carleton Management, located on an apex corner of 13th and F Streets. The building features 87 fully furnished studio apartments, with a ground floor corner commercial/retail space.

We developed and oversaw a steering committee of local art leaders to select an artist to create an 8-story mural, including the artist selection process, project management, contract negotiations, implementation and installation.
