Comic-Con Museum Public Relations

All Comics, All Year Long

When an annual event just isn’t enough, you need a year-round museum with exhibitions, programs and events featuring comics and popular art from across the Comic-Con universe.

Media and the public got a first-time, in-depth look at plans for the Comic-Con International Museum (which opened in 2021) during a virtual press conference that included renderings and a fly-through conceptual video that envisioned the space when fully complete. Coverage highlights included the front page of the Business Section in the San Diego Union-Tribune, KABC in Los Angeles, MSN and ComicBook.com.

The Comic-Con Museum then teamed up with Cardboard Superheroes, a non-profit founded by two Los Angeles teen brothers to promote the arts in youth, to provide weekly video tutorials on making miniature models of favorite pop culture icons—using cardboard. Coverage highlights included OC Register, LA Daily News, San Diego Union-Tribune and multiple pick-ups in other newspapers.

And when PAC-MAN was inducted into the Comic-Con Museum Character Hall of Fame, it was picked up by SYFY Wire, Comic Book Resources, Game Rant and multiple San Diego outlets.

Opening year PR efforts resulted in 183 placements with 302,600,000 impressions and $1.2 million in value add.
