SACOG Regional TOD Action Plan
Livable, walkable, commutable and thriving communities. The Sacramento region’s new transit-oriented development (TOD) Action Plan will help local governments, property owners, developers and the community prioritize projects that increase housing, reduce congestion and create more dynamic and vibrant neighborhoods. The result will be inclusive, sustainable and successful neighborhoods with a variety of amenities for residents, workers and the broader community.
MIG led the process of creating a regional strategy for transit-oriented development (TOD) within neighborhoods where housing and employment uses are most needed in the Sacramento region.
The Plan articulates a concerted effort between local municipalities, the State, SacRT, and SACOG. It contains focused strategies for each public agency to consider that would result in regulatory and financial incentives to encourage TOD projects. This includes specific strategies for each Station Area, based on its economic positioning and unique character, as well as “Priority Sites” that can develop into immediate TOD projects within the next three to five years.
