Concord Campus District Vision Framework
This is what a higher education campus of the future will be: multiple academic institutions at various grade levels, research and development facilities, manufacturing opportunities and other job-creating land uses—all in one place. Because traditional academic and career pathways don’t always meet the needs of our constantly evolving world.
Community, academic and business leaders from throughout the San Francisco Bay Area met with the City of Concord to create the vision for a tradition-shattering Concord Campus District. They analyzed regional and national trends, as well as campuses and innovation districts throughout the country. They formulated a clear vision for a new 130-acre campus near the Concord BART rail station, supporting the Northern California Megaregion. The new campus will:
- Foster cutting-edge innovations
- Leverage Concord’s ideal location
- Be affordable and accessible
- Respond to evolving educational needs
- Advance equity, opportunity and inclusivity
Building on the Bay Area’s culture of innovation, world-class human capital and unmatched institutional prestige, the innovative Campus District is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create the next generation of academic and industry partnerships.
