Plant Conservation Science Center

All life depends on plants. The Chicago Botanic Garden used that statement as the foundation of the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Science Center, a 38,000-square-foot state-of-the-art botanical research facility. The Center is home to a unique doctoral program in plant biology and conservation with Northwestern University and contains laboratories and teaching facilities for more than 200 Ph.D. scientists, land managers, students and interns.

Nearly 800,000 visitors and schoolchildren learn about plant science firsthand in the viewing gallery, with lively and evocative MIG-designed exhibits that express the Garden’s core conservation ethic and articulate its research activities.
