Portland ADA Transition Plan Update

Removing the Barriers

Working with City staff and eight City Bureaus, the Portland Commission on Disability, and community stakeholders, we helped Portland update its ADA Title II Transition Plan.

We assessed 342 City facilities, including parks and major spectator venues. New accessibility reports identify relevant state and federal codes, and provide recommendations and priorities for removing barriers and planning level costs. We also helped City staff with public outreach materials and incorporating public comments into the final Transition Plan. The final deliverable was an electronic tracking tool that the City can use to track ADA updates during the next 15 years. We also helped the Bureau of Transportation develop a strategic plan to remove barriers in the public right-of-way.
