KidsQuest Children’s Museum Design
Kids are having so much fun they don’t even realize they’re in a museum! KidsQuest Children’s Museum imaginatively integrates learning through play with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). And, the museum is all about Bellevue, from the community’s rural past filled with orchards to the modern cityscape of today, with snow-capped mountain views. Little kids have trees just their size to practice picking apples, a big rig semi-tuck cab appears to be on a road leading to a local mountain pass, the Bellevue Mercantile re-enacts its 1915 setting and the train table includes regional landmarks. Kids will find water features, a sticks and stones outdoor gallery, reading nooks, an ice cream parlor, art studio with kiln and Recycle Rebuild, a classroom focused on multidisciplinary creativity, from woodworking to electronics and everything in between. Construction elements are left exposed to show how the exhibits are made and how they work.
