We are seeking a mid or senior-level Analyst with some years of experience to support our growing Air Quality, Climate Change, and Noise practice in one of MIG’s northern or southern California offices (San Jose, Sacramento, Berkeley, or Riverside, CA only). The person in this position will have opportunities for growth and will work primarily in MIG’s Planning and Environmental Management Services service area, which provides technical impact assessment services (CEQA and NEPA), environmental compliance support (permitting and mitigation monitoring), and planning services (specific plans, general plans) to cities, counties, colleges and universities, and private sector clients. MIG supports a hybrid work-from-home/remote and in-office schedule, but we encourage in-person work for learning and team-building opportunities.
Project Work: You will work with a team to analyze residential, commercial, and industrial development and redevelopment projects pursuant to CEQA and NEPA and other environmental laws. You will assess potential impacts from site-specific development proposals, as well as larger planning efforts, including Specific Plans and General Plans. You will:
Collaborative Teammate: You will work as part of a cross-office, cross-discipline team conducting impact assessments and incorporating goals for healthy communities and environmental protection into the review process. Your colleagues will include not only air quality, climate change, and noise specialists, but experts in other disciplines such as biological resources, landscape architecture, and community planning and engagement.
Project Management and Business Development: You will develop and manage projects commensurate with your experience, including scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and internal and external project communications. You will assist with implementing marketing and business development strategies to grow MIG’s Air Quality, Climate Change, and Noise practice, such as strategic planning, conference attendance, and developing and maintaining client relationships.
MIG works on projects nationwide; some travel, evening, and weekend work will be required for field work, site evaluations or to meet deadlines. MIG encourages a sustainable and healthy work-life balance, and these excess hours can be offset during the week when possible.

The pay range for this position is $40-$60/hour, commensurate with location, skills, and experience.
